Spring Cleaning For Your Outdoor Room
The robins are back, and the trees are budding, it’s a sure sign that spring is on the way. We know that in Alberta that can mean 2 more months of somewhat questionable weather. That doesn’t have to stop you from enjoying your Blueflower Sunroom or screen room. Now is a great time to get rid of those cobwebs and brighten up your space. They don’t call it spring cleaning for no reason.
Clean glass windows by removing debris with a garden hose. Once you are done, use a glass cleaner. If you still see the dirt on your outside windows, apply mild soap, detergent or mineral spirits, using a cloth, spray bottle, and a sponge.
While cleaning your sunroom, you would want to make sure not to dislodge the weather seals attached to the doors and windows. If you notice that a weather seal is out of place, just slide it back into the position. If a weather seal gets damaged, replace it immediately.
Gutters on a sunroom addition can be different from those in your house. It is important to clean and remove debris from the gutters, at least once every few months. Regular cleaning of the gutters will ensure that the downpipes do not get clogged up.
If you have a screen room: wipe your screens down with a wet microfiber cloth followed by a dry wipe, or use a soft brush.
The tracks that your doors slide on are the easiest place for dirt and grime to accumulate. These can clog up making it harder to open your doors. Use a thin vacuum attachment and get right in between the rails or turn the garden hose onto a jet setting and blast the dirt out. Go over the tracks afterwards with a cloth.
Now that you have a sparkling clean room, add some bright accessories like cushions and blankets. Some spring plants and flowers will bring fresh life and create a spring vibe. You can also use a heat lamp if the temperatures are still a bit cool. Your Blueflower sunrooms and screen room are now the perfect place to enjoy the changing season and be ready for those warm summer days.
